On Saturday, May 3, 2014, Lone Star Park will host its annual Kentucky Derby Day extravaganza! As always, the event will feature a popular Kentucky Derby Hat Contest, live bands, activities for kids and an opportunity for you to watch this year's most exciting horse race in a lively atmosphere. Whether you go to watch or wager, it'll be a fabulous time, so save the date!
At the Courtyard of Champions Stage, guests can listen to great music from local artists, while kids will be entertained at the Family Fun Park, which includes bounce houses, pony rides and a petting zoo. The hat contest, which is always a hit every year, gives attendees a chance to win one of two $500 grand prizes in "The Most Stylish" and "The Most Creative" categories, and there will also be three prize giveaways for runners up. In addition to all of this, you'll get to catch the exciting 140th running of the Kentucky Derby, so get ready to place your bids!
Lone Star Park is a Class I racetrack located in Grand Prairie, Texas at 1000 Lone Star Pkwy, just half a mile north of the I-30 on Beltline Road. The 36,000-square foot facility houses a Bar & Book, restaurant, sports bar and multi-million dollar simulcast racebook.
