What's New for the 2026 Hyundai Elantra?
The 2026 Hyundai Elantra introduces an SEL Sport Premium trim this year, replacing the SEL Convenience trim from the previous year.
What Are the 2026 Elantra Trims & Features?
The Elantra is available in several trims. The base SE trim remains a solid value and comes standard with an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone connectivity, a six-speaker audio system, and LED projector headlights.
The SEL Sport features a racier exterior, complete with 17-inch alloy wheels and a black glass rear spoiler. The SEL Sport Premium maintains its athletic look while incorporating premium appointments, including a power sunroof, upgraded interior materials, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go.
Hyundai's Limited trim focuses on comfort, with features such as ventilated front seats and upgraded driver-assistance systems that enhance the overall experience.
For a more spirited drive, the Elantra N Line pairs a stronger engine with a sports-tuned suspension, and exclusive N Line sport seats complete the performance-oriented interior.

How Much Horsepower Does the 2026 Elantra Have?
Most Elantra trims utilize a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 147 horsepower and sends power to the front wheels via an Intelligent Variable Transmission. The N Line steps up to a 1.6-liter, turbocharged GDI four-cylinder engine tuned to 201 horsepower, paired with a seven-speed DCT automatic transmission for quicker acceleration.
What Safety Features Does the 2026 Elantra Include?
The Elantra's standard safety package includes multiple active systems designed to prevent collisions. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection can bring the vehicle to a stop if it senses an imminent collision. Lane Following Assist issues measured steering inputs to help keep the car centered in its lane. Additional standard equipment includes Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Forward-Collision-Avoidance Warning, and High Beam Assist. Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go is available on select trims for added highway convenience.
