This is the final month to participate in the Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off, an annual event held from March 1 through May 31 as part of the nationwide community improvement program called Great American Cleanup. Participating will give you an opportunity to beautify your local community, while engaging in a unique team-building experience with friends or colleagues.
There are several ways to get involved. For example, you can organize your neighbors, scout troops, HOA or work buddies and go clean up local parks and streets with supplies provided by Keep Carrolton Beautiful. You may also restore a heavily graffitied area with paint from KCB or clean out your home/office/garage and donate your old electronics for eCycling. Additionally, you can get involved simply by organizing a recycled-art crafts party with kids or even save your batteries, plastic bags and light bulbs and recycle them at locations like Wal-Mart or Lowe's.
Keep Carrollton Beautiful is giving out gloves, garbage bags and pickers to anyone organizing a cleanup event this month or you can select to be assigned a location where assistance is needed.
