The holidays are officially here, and while this is definitely our most favorite time of the year, the holidays can also be the most stressful time of the year. Families across the U.S. will be piling into their sedans, minivans and crossovers this winter and heading off to Grandmother's house.
In order to help lessen your holiday stress, Van Hyundai has put together a few tips that will hopefully help you and your family enjoy the holidays safely and peacefully.
1. Bring Your Car in for a Checkup
One of the biggest aspects of car safety is proper maintenance. Before you head out over the hills and through the woods this December, make sure your car is running properly by taking it into our service center for an oil change, tire rotation and battery check.
2. Be Prepared
Winter comes with a lot of questionable weather, and sometimes a bad front can come through before you even know it's on its way. Put together a mini-winter emergency kit for your trunk that includes blankets, extra gloves, a flashlight and plenty of water. Also, pack in some kitty litter or sand, which can help traction on slippery or icy surfaces, if you're in a jam.
3. Plan out Your Route Beforehand
Planning is everything and one of the best ways to lowering your stress levels is to have your routes, times and luggage all planned out before traveling. So check those traffic reports and weather bulletins, and plan out several traveling routes, in order to make it to Grandma's house happy and on time.
4. Don't Rush
This may seem obvious, but for many people speeding may seem like the only option once the morning has been taken up with burned casserole, a fussy toddler or a finicky dog. The best advice we can give is to avoid speeding, even if you're running late. Not only will it help you avoid a pesky speeding ticket during present buying season, but more importantly, it will help you avoid a more serious accident, so slow down and just enjoy the ride.
Everyone at Van Hyundai hopes you have a happy and safe holiday season!
