Ten finalists were chosen for this year's 2015 North American Car of the Year award, but it was Hyundai that was the only automaker to sport two models on the list.

The Genesis and the Sonata were both honored as finalists for this year's prestigious award, which recognizes vehicles that are "benchmarks in their segments based on factors including innovation, comfort, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value for the dollar." All qualities that Texas drivers know the 2015 Hyundai Genesis and 2015 Hyundai Sonata in Carrollton have in spades.

This is not the first time that the cars have been recognized for their achievement in the automotive world. The first-generation Genesis won the National Car of the Year award back in 2009 and the Sonata came in second for the honor in 2011. And this year looks to be another fantastic outing with both models sporting brand-new redesigns.

"This is a tremendous recognition of two great products and an outstanding team effort," said Dave Zuchowski, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. "Our design group, assembly plant, service engineering and product planning teams all were critically responsible in developing and launching these vehicles, that we can now say are two of the best introduced this year. The competition is certainly tough, so we know we've got our work cut out for us."

These 10 finalists will be narrowed down to a top three shortlist later this year with the winner announced at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January.

Both models are now on sale at Van Hyundai so come by our showroom today and test drive the 2015 Hyundai Genesis and the 2015 Hyundai Sonata in Carrollton.
