Hyundai will continue its push into the electric car market in a big way with the debut of their all-new electric car: IONIQ.

As one of the only cars on the market with three available electric powertrains, IONIQ should prove itself as a leading green car in its segment. The three powertrains available on IONIQ will be electric, gas/electric hybrid and plug-in gas/electric.

“Hyundai Motor has a heritage of building innovative, fuel-efficient vehicles, so we are proud to advance our eco-friendly car line-up with the introduction of IONIQ. Our vision for future mobility focuses on choice, with a variety of powertrain options to suit customers’ varied lifestyles, without compromising on design or driving enjoyment. IONIQ embodies Hyundai Motor’s vision to shift the automotive paradigm and future mobility; IONIQ is the fruit of our efforts to become the leader in the global green car market,” Woong-Chul Yang, Head of Hyundai Motor R&D Center said.

The sedan will be based on an exclusive new platform that has been made specifically for IONIQ’s multi-platform use. The car will debut in Korea in January, as well as in New York and Geneva in March.
