The City of Carrollton has just announced their new Volunteer Awards. These awards are meant to recognize members of our community who go above and beyond to make our neighborhoods as safe, fun and beautiful as they can be.
Folks from around Carrollton will have a chance to nominate their neighbors for two awards: the Neighborhood Leadership Award and the Carrollton Volunteer of the Year Award. Anyone can nominate someone from their community; you can even nominate more than one person if you know several deserving people.
“We appreciate all of our volunteers and many of the City’s programs wouldn’t operate as smoothly without them,” said Tanya Ferencak, Senior Community Development Specialist. “Through these awards, the City can distinguish those volunteers who have given more than what’s asked of them on a regular basis.”
The Neighborhood Leadership Award nominee must come from a Carrollton Neighborhood Organization and shown exceptional volunteerism and service. The Carrollton Volunteer of the Year Award must be someone who has volunteered for a program or department in Carrollton, including local animal care, boards and commissions, and Carrollton's Citizen’s Patrol.
The deadline to submit nominations is July 24, 2015 by 11:30 a.m. If you would like more information about these new awards, visit the City of Carrolton’s website.
