Apple enthusiasts have been celebrating the release of the Apple CarPlay system since it was announced earlier this year. Now it looks like Apple and Hyundai enthusiasts will have even more to celebrate, as the new 2015 Hyundai Sonata is set to receive this exciting piece of infotainment technology.
CarPlay is a terrific new infotainment system that works directly with a driver’s iPhone by accessing various apps on the mobile device. Through Apple CarPlay, drivers will be able to make calls, listen to music, respond to text messages and use Google Maps, all while using Apple’s famous Siri Voice Control system. Hyundai has integrated CarPlay technology into their esteemed Audio Visual Navigation system, which already seeks to give drivers a safer and more intuitive infotainment experience.
“By integrating CarPlay into our core-volume Sonata, Hyundai is one of the first volume manufacturers to bring CarPlay to market and it will be available on 2015 Sonatas equipped with navigation later in the 2015 model year,” said a Hyundai press release.
Right now, Apple CarPlay is only available on the new 2015 Hyundai Sonata. It currently works with the iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5.
