2021 Hyundai Elantra N-Line

For the second time, the Hyundai Elantra has won the North American Car of the Year award, beating out the Nissan Sentra and other runners up. The four-door sedan has been recognized by the North American Car, Utility, and Truck of the Year automotive media jury. The jury consists of a diverse group of journalists from different outlets throughout Canada and the U.S.

Only two other car models have earned the same award more than twice, including the Chevrolet Corvette and the Honda Civic. The winner of the award was announced at a virtual event after reviewing more than 40 different makes and models of vehicles in the industry. Many categories were used to narrow down the top finalists, including safety, design, innovation, driver satisfaction, handling, value for the dollar, and segment leadership.

As the North American Car of the Year, the 2021 Elantra stands out in the industry for its "Parametric Dynamics" design theme and the segment-first Hyundai Digital Key. It's also the first model in its class to offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Elantra N and Elantra N Line performance models have also been added to the line-up for drivers seeking more trim options. The model also offers the newly released Elantra Hybrid, which earns a 50 MPG combined fuel EPA estimated economy rating.
