This success further increased Hyundai's lead in the 2024 IMPC Manufacturers' Championship.
Double Podium Success
At the Virginia International Raceway, Hyundai celebrated its sixth double-podium result this season. The Hyundai Elantra N TCR performed remarkably, earning Hyundai top honors. By the race's conclusion, Hyundai secured three out of the top four places in the Manufacturers' Championship standings, thanks to the performances of cars No. 33 and No. 99.
Morgan Burkhard, driving the No. 99 car for the Victor Gonzalez Racing Team (VGRT), maintained a steady pace throughout the two-hour race, finishing in second place. Robert Wickens and Harry Gottsacker drove the No. 33 car and brought home third place. Their finish advanced the No. 33 car to second place in the IMPC Drivers' Championship.
Hyundai's Finishing Positions
The Hyundai Elantra N, driven by the Victor Gonzalez Racing Team, took second place in the No. 99 car.
The top Hyundai qualifier, also an Elantra N, was driven by Taylor Hagler and Bryson Harris.
Hyundai's Next Steps
Following its success in the IMPC competition, Hyundai now holds a 60-point lead in the Manufacturers' Championship. Hyundai's next race will occur at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Indianapolis Motor Speedway 120 on September 21, 2024.
