Specs at a Glance

The Kona might be small, but its unique personality and sporty styling make a big impression. Finished with chrome detailing and innovative paint colors, the Kona turns heads wherever it goes. Although the 2020 Kona looks ready for adventure, its interior is sophisticated and modern. Its comfortable, well-equipped cabin has plenty of space for occupants and many storage solutions. This year, the Kona is so impressive that it is ranked among the 10 best vehicles of the year by Car and Driver. It has also been selected as an “Editor's Choice” vehicle.

Meanwhile, the 2020 Hyundai Tucson, which is a crowd-favorite SUV, doesn't get many monumental upgrades this year. The car's design remains largely the same, but the paint selection includes four new colors, which are a new silver, gray, and several shades of white. Inside, the interior is slightly more upscale with the addition of a leather-wrapped wheel and shift knob on certain trims. The Tucson's impressive list of safety features carries over from 2019, and its power and handling systems remain unchanged.

Performance Under the Hood for 2020

Two engines are available in the 2020 Hyundai Kona. The base engine has four cylinders and a maximum power capacity of 147 horsepower. The second engine, which is standard on the Ultimate and Limited models, is a turbocharged four cylinder engine. This engine increases the vehicle's power capacity to 175 HP. Acceleration time is from 0-60 in 9.2 seconds with the base engine. It drops to 6.6 seconds with the zippier engine. The more powerful engine is paired with a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission.

There are also two engines available with the Hyundai Tucson. The base engine is a 2.0L with four cylinders. Its maximum HP is 161 at 6,200 RPM. Its torque capacity is 150 LB-FT at 4,000 RPM. The second engine is a four-cylinder 2.4L. This engine has a greater power output of 181 HP at 6,000 RPM and a torque production capacity of 175 LB-FT at 4,000 RPM.

Appearance and Amenities

A creative exterior is a highlight of the 2020 Kona. Fog lights come standard on the base trim, and you can choose several color accent packages. Projector headlights, LED running lights, automatic headlights, and a roof-mounted stop light are notable features of the Kona. A shark fin antenna and trim-specific accents complete its distinctive exterior style. Aside from the addition of several new paint colors, the Tucson doesn't get many changes this year. It also has LED lighting elements, chrome details, a shark-fin antenna, and trim-specific features.

Technology Differences on the Inside

This year, the Hyundai Kona gets a 4.2-inch infotainment display screen on all trims. Previously, it was reserved for the higher trim levels. A wireless charging pad and auto-dimming rearview mirror are other notable amenities. Tucson has more leather accents this year. A seven-inch infotainment display screen is standard, and it has plenty of safety amenities.

Both the Kona and the Tucson offer exciting new changes for the 2020 model year. However, you'll have to stop in and test both out for yourself. Call or contact our dealership online today to learn more and take them for a spin.
