Performance

The SEL and Limited Elantra models share the same gasoline-powered engine. They both have a four-cylinder turbo 2.0L engine. With this engine, both vehicles achieve the same top power output of 147 HP. You will get 132 LB-FT in torque with both, along with the same automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is the exclusive drivetrain offered for both Elantra trims.

Appearance

A new look meets the eye for Elantra fans this year. The Elantra's redesign includes a reshaped outer shell that is wider with a more streamlined roof. The result is a sportier and more contemporary appearance coupled with more space in the cabin for people in both rows. Other distinguishing features for the Elantra in 2021 include 16-inch alloy wheels, a chrome-accented front grille, and daytime LED running lights with the SEL. The Limited is equipped with the Premium package that is offered for the SEL as an enhancement. The Limited gets alloy wheels that are 17 inches instead. Its front grille is also finished with chrome, but it is finished with a darker color. LED taillights are added to the Limited.

Features

With the mid-level SEL trim comes many standard conveniences. This trim's technology package includes an eight-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Smartphone integration also comes with the infotainment system. There are two USB ports in front and a six-speaker sound system. Other standard conveniences include a push-button start and keyless entry. The Limited adds a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, which is available with the SEL. It also has heated front seats and a leather-wrapped wheel. Lane-keeping assist, forward collision mitigation, blind-spot collision avoidance, and pedestrian detection are standard for both trims. The Limited adds voice recognition technology and rear automatic braking.
