What's New for the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

The 2022 Santa Cruz is a brand new car from Hyundai. Hyundai calls the Santa Cruz a "Sport Adventure Vehicle," or SAV for short. The Santa Cruz has elements of a pickup truck with an open-air cab and the build of a truck, but it has a sophisticated interior and a comfortable cabin that feels more like an SUV. The Santa Cruz is produced in four trim levels, and it provides a choice of two engines, including a naturally aspirated engine at the base level. The Santa Cruz seats five people and has outdoor-oriented features such as all-wheel drive to help you handle the most questionable and terrain with ease.

2022 Santa Cruz Trims & Features

There are four trims available with the 2022 Santa Cruz. The base trim level, called the SE, has cloth upholstery and an eight-inch touchscreen interface with an audio display. The infotainment system features a color background display for visibility. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are included. The SE gets a standard 4.3-footbed with composite material.

The second trim level in the series is the SEL. The SEL adds heated mirrors to its exterior, along with integrated turn signals. The driver's seat is eight-way adjustable and comes with lumbar support. The SEL also has a Bluelink Connected system, which provides a range of services, including remote engine start, service reminders, and the ability to lock and unlock the doors. Heated seats are standard with the SEL. It also adds more safety technology and upgrades to a standard 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster.

LED headlights are standard on the third trim, which is the SEL Premium. This trim also has some interior upgrades, including a leather-wrapped gear shift knob and steering wheel. Hyundai's Digital Key is also standard. Lastly, the Limited trim gets leather upholstery and a Bose sound system.

Two gasoline engines are available with the 2022 Santa Cruz. The base engine is a naturally aspirated four-cylinder with a 2.5L capacity. This engine is capable of 190 HP and about 180 LB-FT in torque. It is paired with an eight-speed transmission with dual-clutch technology. The other engine is a turbocharged 2.5L engine that delivers 275 HP.

Blind-spot monitoring is included on the Santa Cruz, and the top trim has a more advanced blind-spot monitoring system. Seat belts and airbags are also standard.
