If you buy a new Hyundai, you already know that you're getting a car with good reliability and quality ratings. However, Hyundai also covers its vehicles with factory warranties. Hyundai's warranties are also some of the most generous and competitive in the industry, which gives you added assurance and peace of mind when purchasing your next new car. Factory warranties cover everything from the engine to smaller components. They are standard on vehicles in certain model years, but you can add on optional plans for additional protection if needed.

Powertrain Limited Warranty

A Powertrain Limited Warranty will cover the cost of parts repair and replacement for ten years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty will cover the transaxle and components, the transmission, and the engine. Parts must be installed initially or manufactured by Hyundai and malfunction under normal use due to defects in material or faulty workmanship.

New Vehicle Limited Warranty

Hyundai's New Vehicle Limited Warranty lasts for five years or 60,000 miles. It covers components including the radio and sound system, exterior paint, battery, and air conditioning system.

Anti-Perforation Warranty

The Anti-Perforation Warranty provides coverage for body panels that are damaged due to corrosion under normal use and maintenance. The warranty lasts for the first seven years and an unlimited amount of mileage driven during that time.

Emissions Warranty

The Emissions Warranty lasts for eight years or 80,000 miles. It covers the engine control module, catalytic converter, and emissions diagnostic device. Those components will be repaired or replaced if they should cause the vehicle to fail to conform to applicable EPA-approved inspection/maintenance programs. 

Hybrid Battery Warranty

New Hyundai hybrid cars are covered with a Hybrid Battery Warranty. This warranty is a lifetime warranty for the original owner. It will last for ten years or 100,000 miles with subsequent owners. The warranty covers a hybrid battery, the starter, generator, and power control unit.

MPP Plans

If you'd like additional protection for your Hyundai besides the factory warranties, or if your vehicle does not include factory warranties, you can opt for a supplemental MPP plan for extended coverage. Van Hyundai offers a variety of  MPP plans that provide lease wear protection, GAP coverage, extended service contracts, and warranty protection plans for older models.
