What is the Hyundai Tucson Maintenance Schedule?

The Hyundai Tucson is a sporty and versatile SUV that is comfortable and fun to drive. The Tucson also happens to be an exceptionally reliable vehicle. As reliable as it may be, however, the Tucson will need to have routine maintenance during the time that you own it. Routine maintenance is important to catch any problems before they become major issues, and it will also help extend your vehicle's longevity. The Tucson will typically need to be serviced in 15,000-mile increments, although you will need to bring it in for less extensive service such as oil changes more often.

15,000-Mile Service

The first main service milestone that you will reach with your Hyundai Tucson is 15,000 miles. When the Tucson gets to 15,000 miles, it will need to have certain basic services performed to ensure it is running safely and smoothly.

30,000-Mile Service

When your Hyundai hits 30,000 miles, it will have more services performed. Many of the same services from the 15,000-mile checkup will be repeated as well. At 30,000 miles, the Tucson will have many components in the braking system checked, including the brake fluid. The associated cables and lines will also be inspected. The engine oil and filter are changed at 30,000 miles, and the tires will be rotated. A mechanic may also recommend a fuel additive for your vehicle. The air filter may be changed as well. The 30,000-mile inspection may also include an air cleaner filter inspection and an air conditioner compressor inspection. The air conditioning refrigerant may be changed as well, and the battery may be checked for performance and longevity.

60,000-Mile Service

As with the previous two mileage-based service checkpoints, the Tucson will have some of the same services repeated at 60,000 miles. The Tucson may have the air conditioning compressor checked, and the battery's condition will likely be evaluated. The drive belts are checked at 60,000 miles, and the front and rear disc brake pads and brake calipers are also inspected. The fuel filter will be inspected, and a mechanic will also likely check the suspension mounting bolts. The Tucson's air filter on the fuel tank will be inspected for signs of a problem as well. The vacuum hose, propeller shaft, and parking brake are other components that a mechanic will check.

90,000-Mile Service

When your Tucson reaches 90,000 miles, it will have even more services performed. At this point, the fuel filler cap and the vapor hose are checked. The transfer case oil and the valve clearance are new points that are inspected. The Tucson will also have repeat services from the previous milestones.
